The General Surgery service in NTFGH is an affiliate partner of the NUHS General Surgery Residency Programme. Our specialties in surgery include breast, endocrine, hepatopancreatobiliary, upper gastrointestinal, bariatric, colorectal, trauma and vascular surgery. We are committed to training surgeons who will later further their career in either clinical or academic surgery.
Residents in the General Surgery Residency Programme hone their surgical skills under the close supervision of a team of experienced and enthusiastic teachers, many of whom are also tutors in international and national workshops/courses.
In addition to daily didactic teachings in the operating room, wards and outpatient setting, there are regular didactic teachings in the format of case-based discussions, grand rounds, radiology, journal club and book club. There is also a weekly Morbidity & Mortality Committee meeting.
