During a Code Blue drill, there will be a simulated scenario whereby a patient is presented in peri-arrest condition which may lead to subsequent cardiac arrest.
Objectives
- Identify the strengths and weaknesses of each individual as well as the team during a crisis situation
- Facilitation in conducting the debrief after the crisis situation
- Provide suggestions and/or recommend training needs for improvement
- Improve system/process flow
In-situ Anaesthesia Simulation
Trainees come to the Anaesthesia department with different skill sets and levels of clinical expertise. They may also not have been exposed to common critical events encountered during Anaesthesia which require prompt recognition and management.
We believe that simulation is an excellent way to train this group to successfully face these challenges. The program is designed with this in mind and aims to expose the trainees to decision making, teamwork and psychomotor skills. Trainnees will learn to competently perform common procedures and effectively manage common and rare critical events within a controlled environment that simulates the operating theatre.
The aim of the Anaesthesia in-situ simulation is to facilitate participants’ learning and help them develop a structured approach to recognise and manage serious critical clinical situations.

In-situ Trauma Management
The Emergency Room is a high risk, low safety margin area of clinical practice where trainee physicians routinely face difficult diagnostic, decision-making and procedural challenges. These trainees come to A&E with differing skill sets and different levels of clinical expertise. We believe that simulation is an excellent way to train this group to successfully face these challenges.
The program is designed with this in mind and aims to expose the trainees to decision making, teamwork and psychomotor skills to manage commonly occurring clinical cases & procedural skills as well as rare clinical events in a controlled environment, with a focus on trauma cases.

- Junior A&E Doctors (Resident Physicians, Medical Officers)
- A&E Nurses

- Perform simultaneous assessment & resuscitation of critically unwell patients
