Biosketch

Chung Ming Chan obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and moved to the United States of America in 2009 for residency training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, Florida.  On completion of orthopaedic surgery residency training, he pursued further subspecialty fellowship training. The subspecialty fellowships were in orthopaedic oncology at UF and in hand and microsurgery at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery and the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.  In the course of training, he had the opportunity to visit several centres of excellence including those in Taipei, Beijing, Birmingham, and Leiden.

On completing his training, he joined UF as an assistant professor in 2017, and was on faculty in the Divisions of Hand and Upper extremity, and Orthopaedic Oncology of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation.  He returned with his family to Singapore in 2021, and joined the Department of Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery and the Division of Musculoskeletal Oncology in August 2021.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) and has been awarded the Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Surgery of the Hand by the ABOS. He is registered as an orthopaedic surgeon with the Specialist Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Health, Singapore. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a member of the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS).
