Dr Chan Po Fun is a Consultant Cardiologist at National University Heart Centre. She is the Clinical Lead for Heart Failure Services at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, and heads a multi-disciplinary Heart Failure Team providing holistic, seamless care for all Heart Failure patients.
Her other area of interest include cardiac imaging. She is trained in transthoracic echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, pharmacological and exercise stress echocardiography. She is proficient in the interpretation of CT coronary angiography.
Dr Chan graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2009. She completed her Internal Medicine Basic Specialist Training at National University Hospital, and attained the Master of Medicine (MMed) and Membership of the Royal College of Physician (MRCP) in 2013. She subsequently pursued her specialist training in Cardiology under the National University Heart Centre, and was accredited as a specialist in Cardiology by the Ministry of Health in 2017. She was granted the Health Manpower Development Programme award by the Ministry of Health in 2020 and is a member of the Clinician Advisory Workgroup to MOH for heart failure.
Dr Chan's friendly demeanour and sound knowledge has gained her respect and trust from many of her patients; She was awarded the NTFGH Service Ambassador Award in 2018 and 2021. She has also mentored medical students, junior doctors, nurses, and cardiac technicians, and is currently a Faculty Member of the Cardiology Senior Residency Programme at the National University Heart Centre.
