Biosketch

Dr Chen graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2005 and commenced Basic surgical training (BST) in 2008. He obtained the MRCS (Member of Royal College of Surgeons) qualification in 2010 and commenced Advanced surgical training (AST) that same year. After completing his AST and obtaining the Master of Medicine (General Surgery) qualification in 2015 and the FRCS (Fellow of Royal College of Surgeons) qualification in 2016, Dr Chen joined the newly opening Ng Teng Fong General Hospital as an Associate Consultant in the Vascular Surgery division.


Dr Chen was subsequently promoted to a Consultant Vascular Surgeon in 2018 and obtained the HMDP (Health Manpower Development Plan) grant to work as a Fellow at St Mary's Hospital in London for a year in 2019 to gain further experience in complex aortic surgery as well as carotid endarterectomy surgery. Dr Chen has a keen interest in Vascular Surgery and has various oral and poster presentations at local and regional conferences. He is also a member of the Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Singapore (SVESS) and attends yearly local and international Vascular conferences to keep up to date in the field.
