Biosketch

Dr Wan Yi Min practises as a Consultant in the Department of Psychiatry at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital. She is part of the multi-disciplinary team in the Assessment & Shared Care Team (ASCAT) programme aimed at enhancing patients' experience in the community setting.

Having obtained her medical degree from the University of Ireland and Master of Medicine (MMed) in Psychiatry from the National University of Singapore, Dr Wan attained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists of the United Kingdom in 2012.

Dr Wan’s interest in psychiatric research studies is well reflected in her wide array of publications, including educational review papers and medical journals. She is one of the authors of the textbook, Essential Guide to Psychiatry, that was published in 2014. She is also a member of NTFGH’s research committee.

Dr Wan has been a speaker at international conferences, and conducted talks for general practitioners, community partners and the public on neuropsychiatry topics such as Apathy & Psychosis in Parkinson's Disease, Rapid Eye Movement (REM) Sleep Behaviour Disorder, and Functional Movement Disorders. She is a member of the American Neuropsychiatric Association, International Neuropsychiatric Association, and the British Neuropsychiatry Association. She was also a member of a committee responsible for the development of the Singapore Clinical Practice Guidelines for Anxiety from 2013 to 2015.

For her contributions to the field, Dr Wan has received numerous awards such as the Distinction in Singapore Medical Journal Reviewer Recognition Award, Young Asian Psychiatrists Award of the 5th World Congress of Asian Psychiatry, and the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship Award.
