While most of us are busy spring cleaning in preparation for the Lunar New Year, 200 JurongHealth Campus staff volunteers decided to give their time to spring clean the homes of 19 needy elderly residents in the west. This is the seventh edition of our annual Healthy Home event to help create a safe and healthy living environment ahead of the Lunar New Year. Some of our staff are veteran home troopers who have participated year after year, and were joined by many first-timers who also rolled up their sleeves for this event. Most of the residents are our patients at NTFGH and JCH, with mobility issues and are unable to upkeep their homes. One of the residents was thrilled to see familiar faces when the staff cleaning her home coincidentally turned out to be the ones who took care of her during her stay at our hospital! Together with Mr Patrick Tay, Adviser to Boon Lay Grassroots Organisations, MP for West Coast GRC (Boon Lay), our senior management also went around to distribute festive goodie packs, purchased by funds donated by staff, to our residents to wish them good health and a happy new year.
