Dr Yi Lin Tan is an internal medicine physician with a deep interest in healthcare system improvement, particularly in enhancing efficiency and promoting value-based care. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a MBBS in 2018, obtained her Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine in 2022, and completed the MRCP (UK) Acute Medicine Specialty Certificate Examination in 2024.
Dr Tan began her residency training in internal medicine at the National University Health System in 2019, where she has consistently demonstrated clinical excellence, strong team collaboration, and a commitment to advancing care delivery. In 2023, she was selected for the Singapore Chief Residency Program, a testament to her leadership potential and dedication to service improvement.
Her academic interests center on optimizing resource use in clinical practice. She is a co-author of a 2024 publication in Annals, Singapore which explored physician attitudes toward low-value investigations in Singapore. This work reflects her commitment to reducing unnecessary testing and promoting cost-effective, evidence-based care.
In addition to her focus on value-driven care, Dr Tan has contributed to research across internal medicine and critical care, with publications in Journal of the Neurological Sciences, Headache, and Critical Care.
