Dr Zhao is a Cardiologist with an interest in Interventional Cardiology. He graduated from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2016 with distinction and was the best student in surgery for the final professional examination (First Mekie Prize). In his housemanship, he was awarded the National Outstanding PGY-1 Award by the Ministry of Health. He went on to complete his Cardiology specialist training at the National Univeristy Heart Centre, Singapore (NUHCS). As an Internal Medicine trainee, he was the Chief Resident, and was twice awarded Best Resident Tutor for his contribution to medical education. During his time as a Cardiology Senior Resident, he achieved top honours at various local and regional cardiology meetings, and led a hospital quality improvement initiative that received international commendation from the Value Based Health Care Center.
