Dr Kang Hean Wu is an orthopaedic surgeon and consultant in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, practising under the Division of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery as his primary specialty, with a secondary focus in the Division of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.

Dr Kang completed his undergraduate medical education at King’s College London School of Medicine. He went on to undertake the United Kingdom (UK) Foundation Programme in the East Midlands before progressing into Core Surgical Training and subsequently Specialty Surgical Training in Trauma & Orthopaedics (T&O) in Northern Ireland.

Upon completing his T&O training in the UK, Dr Kang pursued the Brisbane Shoulder Fellowship in Australia, at St Andrew's War Memorial Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital, focusing solely on the shoulder joint in all aspects of arthroscopic and reconstructive shoulder surgery. During this year long period, he also contributed to clinical research and published with the Queensland Unit for Advanced Shoulder Research (QUASR).

He subsequently undertook a further year of fellowship training at the Roth | McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Centre (HULC) in London, Ontario, Canada—an internationally recognised surgical unit specialising in comprehensive and complex conditions of the upper extremity. His fellowship encompassed comprehensive training across shoulder, elbow, hand, peripheral nerve and microsurgical disciplines.

Following his fellowship training, Dr Kang served as a Locum Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon (Upper Limb) in Belfast, United Kingdom, before joining Ng Teng Fong General Hospital as a consultant and orthopaedic surgeon.
