Continuing Medical Education (CME): Colorectal Surgery

The number of geriatric patients needing to undergo major abdominal surgery is increasing as our population ages. We will share about the unique challenges and outcomes in this group of elderly population, care gaps and possible interventions in the primary care setting for these patients to achieve desired outcomes.
The most common proctology disorders encountered in practice are hemorrhoids, perianal fistulas, and anal fissures.

The key learning objectives are to understand how to properly treat these common complaints, recognize when conservative versus surgical management is indicated, and appreciate the range of surgical options and recent advances that exist.
