Dr Han Fucai is a Consultant, Orthopaedic Surgery practising in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, a member of the National University Health System (NUHS).
Dr Han's surgical expertise is in general adult Orthopaedics, keyhole surgery, joint preservation surgery and joint replacement surgery for the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee joints. His main interests are in shoulder and elbow surgery as well as complex sports and joint preservation surgery for hip and knee joints.
A graduate from the National University of Singapore (2007), Dr Han underwent his specialist postgraduate surgical training in National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore. During his specialist postgraduate surgical training in NUH, he received a number of research awards.
In 2017, he obtained his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was also awarded the Ministry of Health (MOH) Training Scholarship for the course of his Orthopaedics training as well as to further his sub-specialty training. Additionally, he was also selected for an AOTrauma Fellowship in 2017/2018 for his attachment in NYU Langone Hospitals (Hospital for Joint Diseases and Bellevue Hospital) in New York, USA. He is now a member of AOTrauma Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation led by an international group of surgeons specialised in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system.
Dr Han maintains a keen interest in research and teaching, and is a clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS. In addition, he has published over 10 papers in peer-reviewed journals and one book chapter on Orthopaedic Surgery, and has presented in many international conferences.
