Biosketch

Dr Ruth Chen is a Consultant in the Department of Ophthalmology in Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH), with a special interest in cataract and glaucoma. 

She went to medical school and graduated from St. George's, University of London. Thereafter she did her postgraduate training in Ophthalmology in Nottingham, United Kingdom (UK). Upon completion of her residency training, she went on to pursue the highly esteemed Glaucoma Fellowship at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, United Kingdom. Thereafter, she returned to Singapore to practise at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre under the umbrella of the National University Health System (NUHS).

Apart from managing general ophthalmic conditions and complex glaucoma cases, which often require surgical management including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, she also has a special interest in Medical Education and has attained a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom (UK).
